Leaving Sonos — 8 Things I Loved
After 3 years at Snips, and post acquisition at Sonos, Inc., my time is up (covid-reorg) and I'm on the job market again. I'm looking to join AR, Fintech, Health projects. See my profile's About. Happy to relocate! DM me.
Here are 8 things I've loved at Sonos (in no particular order):
⁃ Help one another. You can ask a question to anyone, and they'll find a way to help you out.
⁃ Fluent in timezones. With 3 main HQs and lots of satellite studios, people are mindful of timezones.
⁃ All up to date. Weekly company-wide sessions to get the pulse of the company and a reminder of the big picture.
⁃ 1500 new friends. A large company offers lots of opportunities to meet new talent, interesting people.
⁃ Care time. The covid episode is tough, and everyone is encouraged to take extra (paid) personal time off to deal with their personal circumstances.
⁃ "Manage grey". Some new projects are particularly ambiguous or complex but we embrace that.
⁃ Transparency. Anyone can ask questions during the company-wide calls, they're answered live.
⁃ Permanent onboarding. Like all good companies, the values of the company are gently and regularly reminded to all, at each adequate opportunity.
