On and Off Stage — 2023 in Review
On Stage:
"In 2023, I loved leading high-impact cross-team initiatives at HelloBetter in User Acquisition and Product Ops, while planning a move away from Berlin to resettle my family in Geneva."
Backstage:
- Worked tirelessly to accelerate the acquisition of new patients at HelloBetter and simplify different teams operations to enable our growth,
- Worked tirelessly to keep up with the ultra-talented HelloBetter team,
- Discussed at length with my wife about moving away from Berlin (she was unhappy there) to a place that would make both of us happy,
- Discussed at length with my son about how he would feel about moving away from Berlin, which he loved, to a new city, and what the new city should have to make him happy,
- Negotiated a transition to a full-remote position in a different country,
- Fought doubts and fears about messing it all up,
- Set in motion the whole move, and endless administratives tasks to leave Berlin and land in Geneva.
- Moved to Geneva early to find a long term rental flat,
- Helped find activities and clubs, etc, for my family to help call Geneva and Switzerland our new home,
- Restarted going to the gym, restarted running, restarted going out,
- Barely rested, but prioritizing sleep quality is the secret,
- It takes a village: couldn't have done it without the support of my wife, my son, my family, my awesome colleagues, my friends, my Swiss passport.
I've loved growing personally and professionally in 2023, and after a little rest, I'll launch myself into 2024. Let's rock it!
