Sonos Acquires Snips
Sonos has acquired Snips! Two years ago, I decided that a small Frenchtech AI and privacy-focused startup was where I wanted to invest my energy, after a decade at a digital design studio I had co-founded. That represented a move from a great team of design geeks to a new team of tech geeks! From co-founder to employee. From majority to minority. From expert to n00b.
And what a ride it's been, learning about neural networks, hardware and audio front ends, working with top engineering talent and convincing 100s of companies that private-by-design voice recognition is the future of HMI.
So what's next? I look forward to spending time learning from and sharing with my new team and 1500 other Sonos employees spread around the world.
As a long-time Sonos speaker owner, I'm very excited to join Sonos Global Biz Dev team to bring private by design, on-device voice-first experiences to more homes and beyond!
