The Missing Recap: Why AI Chat UI Needs a 'Welcome Back' Moment
A small UI thing that would make a big difference in Claude and GPT Projects:
When I reopen a project after a few days away, I'm dropped back into a long thread with zero context. I have to scroll, skim, and piece together where I left off.
What I'd love instead:
→ A short recap pinned at the bottom of the thread when I return.
→ And below that, context-aware options to get restarted faster.
It's the kind of thing a great collaborator would do: quickly orient you, then offer to move the work forward. These tools already feel like working with someone. This would make the "picking back up" moment feel just as natural as the working session itself.
Seems like low-hanging fruit that would meaningfully improve how people use long-running projects. Anyone else running into this?
